Anti-Disease

An excellent interview with Dr. Offit - one of the inventors of the vaccine for Rotavirus. It's a long interview, but a lot of good information. He makes an excellent point that people go to the University of Google and then totally ignore the repeated findings of scientists and researchers.

It is a very interesting article. This is such a heated topic! I think the most important thing is to do the research (making sure the research is well founded), ask, weigh, and decide for your own kids rather than taking anyone's word for the truth (on either side of the issue). And then, of course, making sure that parents ARE the only ones who make the medical decisions for their children, and not judging anyone who has made an informed decision. Thanks for the link! Good food for thought.

PS I followed the link to find out some causes of autism, and found this tagline summary:

"Genetic analysis of inbred families reveals genes associated with susceptibility to autism."

I wonder what some causes are for non-inbred families. It gave me a good laugh, at any rate.

Good thoughts all Jenny! I agree. I just hope that parents (myself included) don't get all fired up about "something I read somewhere"
